Orbeas are my first bike of choice regardless of whether I work with the company. In 2006, they are rolling out a line of bikes that are more accessible to more people. They also spec the parts that people choose, rather than having the bike store stock all sorts of stems and bits for people to swap out when they buy the bike. The bikes are fully spec'd to order.
Check it out.
http://www.orbea-usa.comI am riding the Oiz, Alma, Orca and Ordu this year. Last year I rode the Scape, Onix and Aletta. Every one of these bikes are WICKED and this represents a pretty wide range of price. For an entry level Xterra rider, the Scape is absolutely perfect... light and not that expensive depending on which Shimano you choose.
An Aletta is a great time trialing bike for non-drafting triathlon races and isn't so steep an angle that back surgery is required. I liked that as an intro to non drafting bike. The Ordu is faster, but not everyone needs to get that low
I believe that if you offer quality bikes, people will not regret what they are spending. If the bikes are crappy, no amount of money is worth spending so better to always be buying the best you can get with your budget. Orbea is the bike to buy.
Hope that helps!
