Mel,

I have been working on putting together a _base_ tri camp, and have been doing various indoor competitions to get a feel for the equipment being used. Most Fitness Facilities and Health clubs hosting these events have been using L.F. stationary bikes for the bike segment. The problem they are facing is the bikes are not calibrated to give anaccurate measure of individual effort.

I did not see these Bikes at the Health and Fitness convention but at a Bike Show in Vegas. The Cyclops pro 300PT, I have no saddle time on one of these machines but perhaps you do? Can you tell me a little about what its like? Does it get you all bubbly inside riding one of these gizmo's when the weather is just atrocious out side?

This might be the ideal machine I have been looking for too hold a top level indoor training camp for the City slickers.

I am the proud owner of a Cyclops 300PT and it is absolutely kick ass.

It feels like pedaling a real bike, you put your own saddle and pedals on it and the workouts are downloadable. It is an excellent winter training bike because training with Watts is very important, and not bringing dirty bikes inside to use your Powertap on your Computrainer is really nice as well.

The bikes would be great for an indoor facility because they don't take up very much room. They are fully adjustable for any person and riding with your own pedals is great.

It is funny.... my first triathlon ever was an indoor triathlon in Chicago where we swam in a pool, rode and exercise bike of some sort and then ran on an indoor track. Those events are totally fun!

If you have any specific questions please ask away...

Melanie,

You did an Indoor race in Chicago?? You sure have climbed the ladder.
Did you think it was well organized? What would you do differently to improve the over all experience?

Out Door is the best but when the weather does not permit, let us not be couch potatoes for cryin out loud, right.

I think it was well organized but that was a million years ago so I really don't remember...

I think those events are super cool. Any kind of winter competition which is just for fun is cool.
