Just visiting. Great site. How long have you been pro? I am a multi-discipline endurance athlete in North Texas. My sports are adventure racing, 24 hour mountain biking relays, duathlons, road racing.

I have been racing pro since 1994. Only XC and road stuff, no long distance endurance racing, recently a lot more Xterras..

Which do you like the most, off or on road? I am mixed. I love the speed of road, but the fun of the trail. Do you do anything else for work or is it primarily racing? I noticed you look like you model some, but do you have a "9-5" job? I am a professional land surveyor in Texas. I am not a professional athlete. I would, however, like to compete at least once a month. I need sponsors to support my hobby. I wish I could make it my job.

I think right now I am enjoying the challenge of off road triathlon. All the road stuff I have done is for training, both road cycling and road triathlon.

I am full time as an athlete. It takes a lot of time and commitment to get there, and it seems that it is harder and harder to make that work. I think I am really lucky to do so. Only the top pros are making it work full time. But if you believe you can be there, you will be.

One more question, I hate to bother anyone with a bunch of questions. I do not mean to pry, but how old are you? Age is always a factor to professionals. If I would have stayed with my cycling when I went to college, I would be retiring now. I instead decided that I would need a career. Now that I am older, I think of where I might be now. Therefore, my question would be, as you near a retirement age, not that you are, what do you see yourself doing? Would it be something tied with your athletic past or would you search for a new career? OK that was more than one question but it was a themed question. And if you were wondering, I am not a reporter. I just get curious about athletes interested in the same things and their views.

I imagine I will be in the sport for at least four more years. However, I will continue as long as it is fun, and I am doing well.

I finished a degree in science which I will not go back to. At this point I would plan to either work in the sport system, or do something in PR or Marketing related to sport. Really, I would look to give back to sport in some way when I am done.

I am 31. Many women are at the top of this sport in their late 30s. I think the factor for women to consider is when and if they would want to have children, which really isn't on the radar screen at the moment for me.
