Hi, Mel. I saw your reply on race gear and i have something to ask you. Do you use only the regular big air cannister ? ( is this the same of seal n' flate, an air inflator with latex sealant inside ? )Don't you carry and extra tube, even a ultra light one in case of a sidewall big tear ? And about fixing tools kit ?
I race with regular tires with latex sealant inside and i would like to know if you think I need an extra tube or if the big air cannister is enough. The air inside the big air cannister is enough to inflate a previously complete flat tube ?
When you use regular tires with latex sealant inside do you use tubeless rins or regular rins ? In case you use tubeless rins, do you use that rubber band recommended ? Thank you very much, and sorry for so many questions, Luiz.

Hi Luiz..

No problem on the questions!!! That is why I have a forum..

Anyways... regular big air cannister. Spare tube in case of major disaster along with some duct tape on my seatpost in case of major tear in my sidewall. I ride UST tires from Maxxis which have stronger sidewalls and tend to resist tearing a bit better.

I carry basic tools on the bike.. a light multitool basically.

I also ride Shimano tubeless rims with tubeless UST tires... and I also put latex in the tires. It is a bit heavier but is the best protection against flats. You do not need the rubber band if you have tubeless rims.

Hope that helps!

Mel
