Starting in 2009 I will be riding the carbon beauties crafted by Specialized. In particular, I will ride the Era, Ruby and Transition for most races this season. I am super excited that in a year where I have goals that run the gamut from mountain biking, to XTERRA to 70.3.. I will have the best machine regardless of venue, as will our whole MelRad Racing Team.

This season AVIA will be supplying me with race flats designed specifically for whatever race I choose. If it is an XTERRA, I am running in the Avi-Stoltz. For 70.3, I have the AVI-Bolt. In between, there are many well designed but not overbuilt shoes to help push my training forward at all time. Check out the cool lineup for yourself at their website!

Thanks to Sundog I will look and see better at all times.

www.profile-design.comAdding a lot of light but strong carbon components to an already very light mountain bike always equates to speed. I am excited to be rocking the Profile Design by Aquaman wetsuit. Profile design has been committed to speed in triathlon for a long time and it is apparent in the quality of all of their products.

www.titec.comIn addition to my Profile Design road components, I will be riding Titec carbon mountainbike bars, stems and seatposts. The Hellbent bar is my secret weapon in sketchy singletrack. Titec makes the strongest and lightest components you can ride in XTERRA.

www.shimano.comIf you are looking for a bomb proof, long lasting, perfect shifting, and gorgeous looking group or wheel set, go get Shimano Dura Ace or XTR. I am excited to be outfitted by Shimano from top to bottom and look forward to another great season trusting their components to go the distance.

www.cycleops.comSaris manufactures the wireless Powertap wheel, an indispensable tool for measuring your training effort on the bike. This wheel allows you to objectively evaluate cycling efforts, which I find to be the secret to improvement in fitness. Especially if you have limited time, ensuring all of your efforts are at the correct intensity is important, so look into having one of these wheels in your arsenal. And now, mountain bike wheels have been added to the mix.

Just in case you choose a REALLY bad line, a Big Air can save the day. Quick shot of air into a tubeless tire can save a complete change and if a complete change is the only option, might as well keep it under 2 minutes with a blast from a Big Air cannister. The back up plan for when your skills let you down
